Kuyavian - Pomeranian Voivodeship is the land of health, time - honored health resorts and active tourism. The whole region constitute of historical district: Chełmno, Dobrzyn, Michałowski, Kuyavian. It is also easy to single out an ethnographic region - Pałuki (in the vicinity of Żnin and Kcynia) where lakes, forests and hillocks are associated with traditional folk. Folk artists and folkloristic bands run an activity here. The most familiar for the tourists are old towns of Kuyavian - Pomerania: Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Włocławek, Grudziądz, Chełmno and Brodnica, where precious monuments of the old town districts adjoin with pulsatory contemporaneity.
This land was a cradle of the Polish state, primeval settlements came here into being in Kruszwica, Biskupin, Strzelno and Mogilno. How life - like the preserve of Gothic architecture Toruń is - the home town of remarkable astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus (born here in 1473), appeared on a UNESCO list. The biggest city of the voivodeship is Bydgoszcz, picturesque lied on the river Brda, Bydgoszcz Channel, its boundary reaches as far as Vistula river. An old-town district assembled by the river Brda with its Gothic temples and district of painters 'Venice of Bydgoszcz' where old tenement houses see oneselves in the currents of the rivers. Bydgoszcz is also famous for the Art Nouveau monuments, it possesses famed stages among which we can specify the Opera Nova. Local manor is the Centre of the Cult of Fryderyk Chopin and reminds of young composer's stay in this place. Castle's ruins in Radzyn Chełmiński are resembled to Teutonic residence in Malbork.
Widespread routes of motor tourism, for instance Trial of Piastowski Szlak and Kopernikowski fasten together the most alluring places of the area. There is for example - Biskupin on the Trial of Piastowski, settlement of proto - Slavic Sorbian culture from before 2500 years. Nowadays this peculiar museum - archeological preserve become a great attraction especially during the holiday archeological fete where people gain an opportunity to become acquainted with mysteries of everyday work of early Slavics's. These days one can travel by narrow-gauge railway from Żnin or else to rich the shore with the boat. Kruszwica is also significant - the legendary castle of prince Popiel. From the Mouse's Tower where - according to the legend, mice ate barbarous sovereign, spreads splendid panorama of linked with the system of canoe lane with waters of neighbouring Greater Poland. Romanesque stone collegiate from the XII century is the trace of the past. One can also find precious monuments of Gothic Romanesque sacred architecture in nearby Strzelno, Mogilno and Inowrocław. Trial of Piastowski has its prolongation in neighbouring Greater Poland Voivodeship.
An important centre of culture, science and tourism of southern Kuyavian is Włocławek town, picturesque laid at the bank of the river. In old town district Gothic cathedral from the VIV century with sculptures of Wit Stwosz's school, the church of St. Witalis, complex of granaries and the Museum of Kuyavian - Pomeranian Land.

Numerous landscape parks are notable - for example Tucholski, Wdecki, Zaborski, Krajeński, Górznieńsko - Lidzbarski, Gostynińsko-Włocławski. There are a lot of trials for the cyclists, hikers and even the enthusiasts for equestrian tourism on the range of these parks.
Among the most important polish health resorts are those situated in Kuyavian - Pomeranian. These are Inowrocław and Ciechocinek that can be proud of the high class of brines. There are situated graduation towers and special constructions by dint of which curative properties of brines are soaring in the air. Not far off Włocławek, the Wieniec is located. It is a treasured health resort for children.
